Man pleads guilty to charges related to business burglaries

Jacob Iten, a man with numerous open cases related to burglary, theft, and drug possession, was recently charged with theft and burglary in Cass County on May 7. He has over 20 counts across six court cases from December 2023 to May 2024. Meanwhile, Amar Kovacevic, one of the men involved in multiple business burglaries, has pleaded guilty to two burglary charges and one theft charge on May 6. Initially facing charges of burglary, theft, unlawful vehicle entry, and refusal to halt in relation to the December 2023 burglaries, he had the other charges against him dismissed.

Kovacevic was sentenced to 5 years in the Department of Corrections but will serve less than a year due to receiving credit for the 137 days already spent behind bars. He must first serve 1 year and 1 day before being released on supervised probation for an additional 18 months. With a history of criminal activity dating back to December 2023, it is clear that both men have much work ahead of them if they hope to turn their lives around and avoid future legal issues.
