Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is a new game that will test your speedrunning skills. With over 150 challenges based on classic NES games, you’ll have the chance to relive memorable moments from Super Mario Bros. 3, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, and Metroid. Start with easy tasks like completing the first level of Super Mario Bros. or eating an enemy in Kirby’s Adventure, then progress to more difficult challenges that will truly test your limits.

The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch system starting July 18. Compete against players from around the world online in the World Championship Mode with a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Aim for a spot on the leaderboards in five challenges that change weekly, compare your times with players of different skill levels, and watch the world’s best times to learn how to improve. With bite-sized challenges, you can feel like a Nintendo World Champion without having to master entire games.

In addition to online competition, you can also challenge your friends in local Party Mode. Up to 8 players can compete individually or in themed Challenge packs. The automatic rewind feature helps undo mistakes, making it accessible even for new players. You can also use Nintendo Entertainment System Controllers (sold separately) to enhance your gaming experience and add an extra layer of fun to your gameplay.
