Meanwhile, in high school sports news, Vestal senior D.J. Wiggins delivered a stellar performance in a spot start, pitching a two-hitter with 16 strikeouts in a 1-0 win over Corning East.

In addition to that, Union-Endicott earned a 5-1 victory over Ithaca behind Matt Francavillo’s impressive pitching performance of 6 1/3 innings with three hits and nine strikeouts. Mike Folli’s third-inning triple that brought in Matt Ferraro and Scott Osman helped secure the win for Union-Endicott.
