A ribbon cutting event was held at the Elk Grove Center to officially open the new science building, known as Building B. This $20 million facility is equipped with classrooms and laboratories for biology, chemistry, and other science courses. Fire Chief Felipe Rodriguez, who was once a student at Cosumnes River College (CRC), expressed his excitement to have the college located in front of the fire station. He emphasized the importance of the new building for people to prosper, learn, and advance in their future careers.
Associate Vice President of Student Services, Tadael Emiru, highlighted the significance of the facility in providing the Elk Grove community with access to college courses as the EGC serves as the only higher education campus in the area. He noted that science classes are usually the first to fill up during enrollment and this new facility helps to increase the capacity to serve those students.
