Bartlesville High School’s track and field team had an impressive showing at Regionals over the weekend, qualifying 12 student athletes for State. The usual suspects from BHS, including jumpers and long-distance runners, have been performing well all spring and will be competing for championships at the State level.
Head coach David Ayres highlighted some of the relay teams that will be representing Bartlesville at the upcoming State competition. One athlete to watch is Gentry Turner, who is a strong contender to win the two-mile event. Turner is also one of the few girls who have run a sub-five-minute mile this season, making her a standout competitor for BHS.
Alongside Turner, Ayres mentioned a few other Bartlesville qualifiers who have the potential to make a mark at the State meet. With 6A State set to take place in Oklahoma City this Friday and Saturday, all eyes will be on Bartlesville High’s talented track and field team as they compete for top honors in their events.
