Schuylkill Technology Center Teacher Named 2024 Elbert K. Fretwell Educator of the Year

Bill Mack, a Social Studies Instructor at the Schuylkill Technology Center North Campus, has been named the 2024 Elbert K. Fretwell Educator of the Year by the Hawk Mountain Council BSA. The award was presented to him at a breakfast held at the STC North Campus on April 26, 2024. Shannon Brennan, STC Director, praised Mr. Mack for his exceptional teaching skills, his ability to inspire leadership in his students and his dedication to community service.

Bill Mack is an accomplished educator with a strong background in education. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree from Bloomsburg University. Currently, he is working towards his Principal’s Certification at Alvernia University. With sixteen years of teaching experience under his belt, Mr. Mack has had a significant impact on the North Schuylkill School District and the Schuylkill Technology Center where he currently teaches.

In addition to being an educator, Bill Mack is actively involved in various leadership positions within the community. He has served as District President and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the Pennsylvania Elks Association and held leadership roles in Protective Order of Elks Number 1533. He also serves as SkillsUSA Advisor for STC SkillsUSA program. Bill Mack and his wife Holly are proud parents to their daughter Laynie.
