CWI’s Health & Science Building: A Centralized Hub for Student Learning in the Valley”.

The College of Western Idaho held a beam signing event to celebrate the completion of its new Health & Science building at the Nampa campus. This marks the first expansion at the college since its inception in 2007. The Health & Science building will bring all professors and resources under one roof, centralizing the department and making it more convenient for students.

Former student Nichelle Boyce, who earned her degree in Surgical Technology from CWI, was thrilled about the expansion and its benefits for future students. She highlighted the ease of access to professors and resources that the new building will provide, making it easier for students to reach out for questions and answers. The consolidation of the health department in the new building will also streamline the learning process and improve collaboration among students.

With CWI currently spread across different locations in the valley, the consolidation of the Health & Science department in the new building will provide students with access to all resources in one spot. This is expected to be particularly beneficial for students pursuing healthcare careers, as they will have easy access to all facilities and equipment needed for their studies. The school views this expansion as crucial for meeting the demand for more healthcare professionals not only in Idaho but globally.

Vice Chair Trustee Cherie Buckner-Webb emphasized this need, stating that collaboration is a crucial aspect of student learning and that CWI is preparing students to meet this demand by serving communities around the world. The new Health & Science building represents a significant step towards meeting this need by providing a centralized and efficient learning environment for students.
