Hubert Kos, World Champion and NCAA Runner-up, Announces Transfer to University of Texas

Hubert Kos, the world champion in 200 backstroke, has made the decision to transfer from Arizona State University to the University of Texas following the departure of head coach Bob Bowman. Kos is a sophomore who just completed his second season with Arizona State and was a standout performer at the 2024 NCAA Championships.

At the championships, Kos scored 48 individual points, placing second in the 200 backstroke, third in the 200 IM, and fourth in the 100 backstroke. He also helped his team secure an NCAA title in the 400 medley relay and a second-place finish in the 800 free relay.

Kos’s notable achievements include breaking Ryan Murphy’s NCAA record for the 200 backstroke at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 1:35.69.
