On March 14, the Jets released Corey Davis after he applied for reinstatement to the NFL. However, there is a strong chance that the wide receiver could end up rejoining Gang Green. According to Coach Robert Saleh, the Jets are in regular communication with Davis and the door is always open for him to return. Reporter Connor Hughes has also indicated that the Jets are interested in bringing Davis back to the team.
If Davis does return to the Jets, it would provide a significant boost to their wide receiving group, which already includes Garrett Wilson and recently-signed Mike Williams. Last August, Davis took a break from the game but was reinstated earlier this month, allowing him to make a comeback to the NFL. The 6-foot-3 wideout spent the first four years of his career with the Tennessee Titans before signing with the Jets in 2021.
During his time with the Jets, Davis showed promise as a valuable asset to their offense, recording 66 receptions for 1,028 yards and six touchdowns in his first two seasons with the team. If Davis does end up re-signing with the Jets, it could potentially create a dynamic wide receiving corps that opposing teams will have to contend with.
