Insolvency proceedings are currently pending against both the Berlin and Vienna branches of Zizooboats GmbH. The provisional insolvency administrator has taken over control of the Berlin branch and is responsible for securing and preserving the debtor’s assets by monitoring its activities. The Charlottenburg District Court has granted the administrator the authority to collect bank balances, claims from creditors, and incoming funds.
Meanwhile, Viennese lawyer Paul Kessler has filed a bankruptcy petition at the Vienna Commercial Court, ordering Zizooboats GmbH to transfer an advance payment of 4,000 euros for start-up costs and submit a “completed list of assets” by February 23, 2024. If Zizooboats denies insolvency, it must prove that it has paid its creditors or entered into installment agreements with them.
Zizoo’s business practices have been under scrutiny in the past, including complaints about unpaid boat rentals and refunds for cancellations and failed rentals. Coparion and Check 24 Ventures have also been involved in both the Berlin and Vienna branches of Zizooboats.
