Minnesota College Students Advocate for Economic Consideration in Gen Z Community

The 2024 presidential election is fast approaching, just seven months away. It’s clear that the economy is a major concern for voters of all ages, including members of Generation Z and some millennials. A recent survey conducted by Tufts University revealed that cost of living and inflation are top issues for young voters aged 18-34.

As both presidential campaigns ramp up, it’s fascinating to hear how young voters are considering the economy in their decision-making process. MPR News recently featured two Gen Z voters, Will Pierce and Cory Hallada, who represent different sides of the political spectrum. Pierce, a political science junior at Macalester College in St. Paul, and Hallada, a political science and economics junior at St. Olaf College in Northfield, shared their perspectives on how the economy is influencing their voting choices this fall.

It’s inspiring to hear from young voters who are actively engaged in the political process and considering important issues like the economy.
