Wisconsin hunters are gearing up for their annual deer hunting opener, which overlaps with the wrap-up of Minnesota’s rifle hunting season for deer. Several hunting supplies stores have given helpful tips on making the most out of this weekend, as well as other upcoming hunting seasons.

Scott Miller, an employee from Northwest Outlet, advises hunters to wear layers and have wool socks during their trips. “We’ve got this one weekend of overlap where there’s guys still hunting in Minnesota and everybody’s getting out and starting in Wisconsin,” Miller said. “But you know, hopefully everybody goes out and is successful and then safe.”

Pat Kukull, the co-owner of Superior Shooters Supply, recommends young hunters to have patience during the Wisconsin Deer Hunting season. “We had the big rush for Minnesota,” he said. “It’s not like years before, because you can buy your license at home online. And that makes a big difference.” He also mentioned that his customers are well prepared by sighting their guns in early.
