The White House has condemned Elon Musk, owner of the social network X, for his alleged promotion of anti-Semitism. The recent comments from Musk on X, such as “Jews are fueling hatred of whites” and “You speak the truth,” have sparked outrage and go against the core values of Americans. The White House spokesperson emphasized the responsibility to unite people against hate and speak out against attacks on the dignity of fellow Americans. The spreading of such lies is seen as particularly damaging, especially given the increase in anti-Semitic incidents since the war between Israel and Hamas.

In response to this backlash, more and more companies and organizations are suspending their advertisements on X to protest against the increasing disinformation and hate messages on the social media platform. This includes entities such as Tesla’s investors, who have expressed criticism of Musk’s actions, raising concerns about potential damage to Tesla’s reputation. Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz has gone even further by calling for Musk to resign as CEO of Tesla.

The European Commission, IBM, Lions Gate Entertainment, Apple have also joined forces in condemning Musk’s comments on X. They described these comments as unacceptable and emphasized that it is essential to combat hate speech in all forms. This incident highlights the importance of responsible communication in today’s digital age and underscores the need for individuals and organizations to be mindful of their words and actions when using social media platforms like X.
