New Voting Security Technology Piloted in Weld County

Weld County took an important step in ensuring the integrity of its election process during the 2023 election by introducing a new security measure. For the first time, ballots were printed on paper stock with GHOSTmark technology, which includes high resolution images that are only visible under special equipment. This pilot program, which served Weld County’s 222,064 active registered voters, was aimed at testing the effectiveness of this unique security feature and its potential for future use. The introduction of GHOSTmark technology marked a significant innovation in Weld County’s efforts to safeguard its elections.
