Firefighters from multiple departments were working tirelessly on Tuesday night to put out a fire at the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe, the location of Nikola Tesla’s final laboratory in Shoreham. The fire was reported at 4:49 p.m. by Suffolk police on the corner of Tesla and Robinson streets.
Firefighters were spotted on site an hour later as flames continued to leap out of the northeast portion of the main building just below the famous peak of the building. Suffolk police confirmed that no one was injured in the incident, but further details about the cause and extent of the damage are not yet available.
