Texas A&M Basketball has had an impressive start to their season, currently sitting at a 4-0 record. Their recent victory over Oral Roberts further solidified their strong start. Next, the team will be heading to Orlando, Florida for the ESPN Invitational Tournament, where they will have a rematch against Penn State. They are looking to avenge last year’s NCAA Tournament opening-round loss.
Head coach Buzz Williams and his determined squad are eager to make their mark in the tournament. In the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, Texas A&M rose two spots to No. 13, proving their impressive start has caught the attention of voters. They have remained undefeated heading into the ESPN Invitational Tournament, positioning themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the college basketball landscape. They are currently the second highest-ranked SEC program, trailing behind Tennessee at No. 8.
Other SEC teams in the top 25 include Alabama at No. 22, Kentucky at No. 16, and Mississippi State who has entered the rankings for the first time this year with a 5-0 record. Arkansas, Auburn and South Carolina also received votes in the poll, showing the strength of the conference in the early part of the season.
