Mentally ill patient attacks three staff members at mental health facility in Buffalo

On Wednesday morning, at around 9 a.m., a stabbing occurred at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center campus in north Buffalo. The incident took place inside the Strozzi Building and resulted in the injury of three staff members by a patient.

The New York State’s Office of Mental Health is actively assisting the Buffalo Police Department in their investigation into the matter. Their top priority is the safety of both their staff and the individuals they serve. The office expressed their thoughts and sympathy to the injured employees and their families during this difficult time.

According to local news outlet WIVB-TV, two men and a woman were transported to the hospital by ambulance after the stabbing took place shortly after 9 a.m. One of the staff members is believed to be seriously injured, while the suspect was taken into police custody. However, at this time, the suspect has not been identified.
