Preparations for the ski season on the White and Green slopes are underway, despite the damage sustained by the Trosjed cable car on Crveni spust during a July storm. Experts from Austrian company Doppelmayr assessed the damage and concluded that it was beyond repair, meaning that the Red Slope will not be operational for skiing this year. This news has disappointed many skiing enthusiasts. However, officials from the City of Zagreb have confirmed that preparatory work has been completed and snowmaking will soon begin to prepare for the ski season on these slopes. Furthermore, plans for the procurement of a new cable car for the Red Slope are in progress.
