Greg Van Roten makes a visit to the Seahawks

The Seahawks are set to strengthen their interior offensive line as General Manager John Schneider has identified it as a key need for the team. In doing so, he mentioned that they would explore options in both the draft and free agency. While the draft is still a few weeks away, the team is actively scouring free agent options. One such option is veteran guard Greg Van Roten, who will be meeting with them on Wednesday.

Van Roten started every game for the Raiders last season on a one-year deal. Throughout his career, he has held starting roles with several teams, including the Bills, Jets, and Panthers after entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Packers in 2012. The Seahawks have also expressed interest in Laken Tomlinson and Cody Whitehair, but neither of them have visited Seattle yet.

The Seahawks’ commitment to addressing their need for a stronger interior offensive line is clear from their meetings with potential free agents like Van Roten. It will be fascinating to see how these moves play out and what impact they will have on the team’s performance during the upcoming season.
