The New York Jets are reportedly interested in acquiring Raiders receiver Davante Adams, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. While the Jets were unsuccessful in trading for Adams before the deadline, they plan to pursue him again in 2024. Meanwhile, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com has revealed that the Jets will make another attempt to acquire Adams after this season concludes.

The potential trade between the Jets and the Raiders could reunite Adams with former teammate Aaron Rodgers, as well as Nathaniel Hackett, Allen Lazard, and Randall Cobb. However, the Raiders face a similar cap situation regardless of whether they trade Adams this year or next year before June 1st. If traded in 2024, it would trigger a $23.55 million cap charge for the Raiders.

The Raiders may aim to secure a better deal in the offseason rather than rushing into a trade on Halloween. However, if Adams is only interested in playing for the Jets in 2024, it could weaken their trade leverage in March.
