In a surprising move, the Rams announced on Tuesday that they have waived running back Darrell Henderson from their roster. This marks the end of his second stint with the team and signals a shift in their running back depth chart.
Henderson, a 2019 third-round pick, had initially remained with the team until November 2022 before returning to the practice squad in October. He was signed to the active roster earlier this month and made four appearances, running 46 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns while also catching 10 passes for 103 yards.
However, Henderson’s return to the lineup had coincided with Kyren Williams going on injured reserve. With Williams set to return from injured reserve this week, it is likely that he will fill the spot that opened up with Henderson’s departure. The Rams have yet to comment on any potential replacements for Henderson at this time.
