Texans acquire Stefon Diggs in trade with Bills

In 2023, Stefon Diggs took to social media to discuss the question of whether his success is essential to Josh Allen’s success. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Bills had decided to trade Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick originally from Minnesota. Houston will receive Diggs, a 2024 sixth-round pick, and a 2025 fifth-round pick.

Diggs had an impressive first season in Buffalo in 2020, leading the league in catches (127) and yards (1535). Originally a fifth-round pick in 2015, he spent his first five seasons with the Vikings before joining the Bills. He had surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for six consecutive seasons and achieved over 100 catches (107) and 1,000 yards (1,183) in 2023. However, the Bills have made the decision to part ways with Diggs, allowing the Texans to add him as another weapon for second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud.

The trade means that by June 1st, the Bills will face a $31 million dead cap charge in 2024 as Diggs is currently signed through
