NFL partners with health clinic to provide vaccines and dental care

On Saturday, April 20, a health clinic in Nashville will be providing free dental services, diapers, and vaccines to the community. The event is the result of a partnership between NFL Alumni Tennessee, St. Luke CME Church, and the Tennessee CEAL Program of Meharry Medical College. Taking place at St. Luke CME Church in the Buena Vista area of Nashville from 12 to 4 p.m., the event will also offer music, free food, and exercise classes for participants.

Former Tennessee Titans players including Al Smith, Brad Hopkins, Derrick Mason, Albert Haynesworth, Joey Kent, and Neil O’Donnell will be in attendance to sign autographs and take photos with fans. In addition to the partnership organizations, the event is supported by the Conference of National Black Churches, Dedicated Senior Medical Center, Help to Moms, the Nashville Diaper Connection, and the CEO Roundtable on Cancer.

The goal of the event is to promote healthy lifestyles and provide access to healthcare for the Nashville community as part of the NFL Alumni’s “Gear up Tennessee” initiative. Dr. Donald Alcendor of Meharry Medical College and Reverend Daryl A. Ballard II of St. Luke CME Church will also attend the event at 2008 Ed Temple Blvd.
