Lions counter 49ers’ offer sheet for Brock Wright

The Lions have announced that they will be matching the offer sheet signed by tight end Brock Wright with the 49ers. This decision comes after Wright expressed his desire to stay with the team and not leave for their NFC Championship Game opponents.

Wright signed a three-year deal worth $12 million, with $6 million guaranteed. This is a significant increase from the Lions’ original restricted free agent tender of $2.985 million. By matching the offer, Wright will not have to adjust to a new offensive scheme ahead of the 2024 season.

Over the last three seasons, Wright has played in 41 games for the Lions, accumulating 43 catches for 424 yards and seven touchdowns. He will continue to team up with Sam LaPorta as the top tight ends in Tennessee.
