Israeli Social Media: Protest NGOs Lead Top 20 Advertisers, Smotrich in 19th Place

A recent study by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has revealed the top 10 organizations that have spent the most money in promoting their campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, which are owned by Meta Corporation. The list shows that Epoch magazine has spent almost 760 thousand shekels on its promotion, making it the top spender. The organization “Veterans of the Yom Kippur War for the Defense of Democracy” came in second place with a total of 658.5 thousand shekels spent on advertising.

In third and fourth place were two protest organizations, Mihdal 23 (Failure 23) and Afkara (Left to Fate), who invested 325.5 thousand and 290.5 thousand shekels in advertising, respectively. The Movement for the Quality of Power followed closely behind in fifth place, while “Titpater Akhshav” (“Resign”) and “Mate Maavak – Nilhamim al-Democracy” (Headquarters for the Struggle for Democracy) ranked sixth and seventh with a total of 173 thousand and 164 thousand shekels spent on advertising, respectively.

The law firm Nir Birkiya came in eighth place, followed by “Ibadeta et Ha-Tzafon” (“You have lost the north”), which spent 142 thousand shekels on advertising. The mayor of Petah Tikva, Rami Greenberg, completed the top ten list with a total investment of 90 thousand shekels on social network advertising.

Other advertisers that made it into the top ten include Memshala Mufkeret (Wasteful Government), Ufkarna (We’re Left to Fate), Petah Tikva Municipality, Urban Renewal Authority, and Finance Minister Bezalel Weinstein.
