Closing its doors after half a century in Worcester, Tatnuck Meat & Seafood bids farewell

The legendary store, Tatnuck Meat and Seafood in Worcester, has closed its doors for good. After 50 years of serving the community with their wide variety of meats and seafood, the business has decided to shut down due to declining sales and the health issues of its owner, Harvey Slarskey. Michael Slarskey, Harvey’s son who stepped in to help three years ago, expressed gratitude to their loyal customers throughout the years and acknowledged that it was time to close the business.

Over the decades, Tatnuck Meat and Seafood had built a reputation as a go-to place for quality meat and seafood products. The shop, located at Pleasant Street corner, was known for its commitment to catering to the local community in the Tatnuck area. However, as the neighborhood changed over time, business began to decline. Despite this setback, Michael shared that closing was a difficult decision as it meant parting with something that had been a part of their lives for so long.

Harvey Slarskey started his journey by launching Tanuck Meats Market in his 30s and later expanded into seafood offerings in 2011. He was known for his dedication towards providing high-quality products and building personal relationships with his customers. In interviews over the years, he emphasized on customer satisfaction and quality products while maintaining standards even amidst small business challenges.
