Israeli Army confirms death of Hamas’ 3rd-in-command in recent Gaza attack

Israeli Army spokesman Daniel Hagari has confirmed the death of Marwan Issa, a senior member of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), during an airstrike in the Nuseirat refugee camp. Issa, also known as “number two” to Mohamed Deif, head of the Ezzeldin al Qassam Brigades, helped organize attacks on October 7 that left over 1,200 dead and 240 hostages. His death was previously announced last week by Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor at the White House.

In addition to Issa’s death, another high-ranking Hamas member, Commander Ghazi Abu Tamaa, head of the combat and administrative assistance staff, was also killed in the same attack on March 10. This was reported by The Times of Israel. Israel launched its offensive against Gaza in response to the October 7 attacks. Since then, over 32,300 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza due to Israeli military operations and more than 420 due to actions taken by security forces and Israeli settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
