In a thrilling match in the round of 16 at the U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, Germany defeated the U.S. 3-2. The United States was eliminated from the tournament after a late goal saw them lose to Germany.

The game was played at a fast pace, with Germany taking the lead with a 14th-minute free kick by Charles Herrmann, only for the U.S. to equalize 10 minutes later with a goal by Taha Habroune. The United States had control of the match during this time and even managed to take the lead briefly with a goal by David Vazquez in the 80th minute. However, substitute Bilal Yalcinkaya scored a late winner for Germany in the 87th minute, securing their victory and eliminating the United States from the competition.

Germany will now face Spain in the quarterfinals on Nov. 24, while France will meet Italy in another exciting match. It was an impressive performance by both teams, but ultimately Germany’s late winner proved to be decisive in determining who would advance to the next round of competition.
