Ex-UGA wide receiver inks deal with the Browns

In the NFL, a former Georgia Bulldog wide receiver Matt Landers has officially signed. Landers, who played briefly in the UFL with the San Antonio Brahmas and spent time on the practice squads of the Seattle Seahawks and the Carolina Panthers, stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 200 pounds. During the 2023 combine, Landers showcased his athletic ability by running a remarkable 4.37 40-yard dash.

Despite his impressive physical prowess, Landers struggled to translate that potential into on-field production during his college career at Georgia from 2017 to 2020. While he saw limited playing time, he made an impact in the 2019 season with ten catches for 105 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, Landers’ role diminished in his final year at Georgia, prompting him to transfer to Toledo for the following season.

In his lone year with the Rockets, Landers displayed more potential by recording 20 catches for 514 yards and five touchdowns. He then used his final year of eligibility to play for Arkansas, where he excelled and led the Razorbacks in receiving with 47 catches for 901 yards and eight touchdowns during his best collegiate season. This exciting news was originally reported by UGA Wire, highlighting Landers’ journey from the college gridiron to professional ranks in the NFL.
