Operational Disruptions Plague Whatsapp

Whatsapp, the popular messaging service owned by Meta, is currently facing issues with its platform. Users have reported problems sending messages on the app, indicating that the service is not working properly for everyone. The disruptions began around 9:10 PM Finnish time and were first reported on the Downdetector website, with over 20,000 issues being reported by users.

While other Meta services like Instagram have also faced disruptions in the past, the number of reported problems is significantly higher compared to Whatsapp. The Vergen technology site has reported that the specific issue with Whatsapp is related to establishing a connection, while other services within Meta like Instagram, Threads, and Facebook are not experiencing similar problems.

This is not the first time that Meta’s services have faced widespread disruptions, as similar issues occurred in early March affecting Instagram, Facebook
