Students Gain Valuable Insights at Health Care Professions and Majors Fair.

The Health Education Pathways Program recently held a Professions and Majors in Health Care Fair at the Titan Student Union Pavilion on March 12. The event was designed to expose students to various professional fields and job opportunities in health care and behavioral health care, as well as the educational pathways needed to prepare for these careers.

Over 250 students attended the fair, including CSUF students, community college students, and high school students from Anaheim Union High School District and Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. Fifteen professional organizations participated in the event, many of which are major employers of CSUF graduates and well-known in Southern California.

Some of the organizations present at the fair included Orange County Health Care Agency, Hoag Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Veterans Affairs Administration, among others. CSUF departments such as Aging Studies, Counseling, Kinesiology, Public Health, School of Nursing, and Social Work were also represented at the fair.

Students who attended found it valuable to learn about the various professional fields within health care and behavioral health care as well as the educational pathways required to pursue a career in these fields.
