The highly anticipated TGL golf league, founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has been postponed by one year. According to TGL, the damage to the dome portion of the arena at Palm Beach State College cannot be repaired in time for the planned January 9th debut. Instead of rushing to have a partial schedule next year, owners and key partners have decided to wait until 2025 to ensure that the event is executed flawlessly.
In other news, Sergio Dest’s yellow card double offense has forced the United States to play with one less player in their Copa America qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago on Monday night. Despite losing 2-1, the US qualified for next year’s tournament after winning the total-goals series, 4-2. Antonee Robinson scored in the 25th minute while Dest received both yellow cards in the 39th minute. Trinidad got goals from Reon Moore and Alvin Jones, who also scored in their previous 2-1 victory over the US six years ago that ended their seven-year streak of World Cup appearances. U.S. captain Tim Ream revealed that there were “choice words” for Dest at halftime. “Not too many things I can say here publicly that we said privately,” Ream said. “It’s a complete lack of respect for guys on the bench and on the field.” The US finished their year with an impressive record of 11 wins, four losses, and three draws.
