The Mental Health APRN Residency program at the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System is designed to enhance the clinical experience of mental health nurse practitioners in managing mental health conditions affecting Veterans. The program aims to improve diagnostic, psychiatric medication management, and psychotherapy skills while fostering strong interprofessional collaboration and Veteran-centric care expertise.
The mission of the program is to prepare Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) to deliver high-quality care for Veterans, including those in rural and underserved patient populations. To be eligible for the program, applicants must have a Master’s degree in nursing or a related field, be licensed as an APRN in New York state, and have completed at least one year of experience working with Veterans or in a related field.
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by the March 8, 2024 deadline.
