Unlocked Minds: Oklahoma’s Free Mental Health Conference to Strengthen the State’s Mental Health System

The first Annual UniteCare Conference is coming to Tulsa Tech’s Lemley Memorial Campus on April 4th and 5th. Hosted by Patriot Family Counseling Services, this Community Collaboration Conference for mental health and caregiving professionals aims to provide workshops and training sessions that teach best practices for mental health care.

The conference is intended for mental health care professionals, caregivers, and advocates, who are all committed to building a stronger mental health system in Oklahoma. With over 592,000 adults in the state having a mental health condition as of 2021 and more than half not receiving help due to various barriers, the conference seeks to address the shortage of mental health care providers in many Oklahoma communities.

Workshops at the conference will cover topics such as substance use disorders, self-care, and grief, offering a space for local caregivers and community members to collaborate on potential solutions. Sponsors for the event include Transformations, TulsaTech, Patriot Family Counseling Services, CREOKS, and the Mental Health Association of Oklahoma. Attendees can sign up for the conference through the channel 8 newsletter.

The conference will start at 8:30 a.m. each day and conclude around 3 p.m. It is an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn about the latest developments in mental health care and connect with other professionals in the field. By working together, we can create a better future for those in need of mental health support in Oklahoma.
