On the night of November 14, Deputies in Fayette County made an arrest for attempted burglary. The suspect, Desjuan Toliver, was found carrying pieces of concrete and wearing a ski mask while trying to break into closed businesses on Kenwood Road. The arrest took place at approximately 2:15 a.m., after deputies responded to a call about a suspicious person in the area.
A search of Toliver revealed car keys hidden in his sock, leading deputies to a GMC Yukon and trailer parked several businesses away, containing more pieces of concrete, ratchet straps, and moving blankets. It appears that Toliver had planned to commit burglary and had gathered the necessary tools to do so.
Toliver has been booked into the Fayette County Jail and is facing charges of loitering, prowling, and criminal intent to commit burglary. This incident serves as a reminder to always be cautious when out late at night and to report any suspicious activity to authorities immediately.
