According to a recent survey conducted by the Financial Times and the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, more Americans trust Donald Trump to handle the US economy than President Joe Biden. The poll found that 42% of Americans believed Trump would be the better steward for the economy, compared to 31% who chose Biden and 21% who said they trusted neither candidate.
The monthly polling series, which began in November, aims to track voter sentiment on the economy leading up to the presidential election. Despite some improvements reported in their personal financial circumstances and overall economic outlook, Trump’s strength in this month’s survey was surprising.
An online poll of 1,006 registered voters across the US was conducted by Global Strategy Group and North Star Opinion Research from February 2nd to February 5th. The margin of error for this poll was plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
