Phil Taylor, commonly known as ‘the Power’, has announced that the 2024 World Senior Darts Tour will be his final year on the circuit. The 16-time world champion initially retired from darts in 2018 but returned to competitive play last year after making the final of the PDC World Championship.
Despite his impending retirement, Taylor expressed excitement for his final season on tour and is determined to make it memorable. He said that he loves performing and is grateful for the journey he’s had over the past 35 years.
Billy Lovell of the World Senior Darts Tour praised Taylor as one of the UK’s greatest sportspeople and thanked him for his decision to come out of retirement at the beginning of their project. Lovell also expressed anticipation that Taylor’s final year on tour would be enjoyable, with a series of exciting events lined up throughout the year, including the World Senior Darts Championship at the Circus Tavern in February.
