The Bengals have announced the signing of Drew Plitt to their practice squad in search of another quarterback following Joe Burrow’s season-ending wrist injury. Plitt, who was previously with the team during the 2022 preseason, has not been on an NFL roster since being cut that summer. He played for Arlington in the XFL during the league’s 2023 season and had a record of 63-of-100 for 668 yards, three touchdowns, and five interceptions.

The team currently has Jake Browning set to start and AJ McCarron in line for the No. 2 job. With this addition, the Bengals hope to bolster their quarterback depth. In addition to the quarterback move, the team also designated running back Chase Brown for return from injured reserve and placed guard Jaxson Kirkland on the practice squad injured reserve.
