Super Bowl LVIII broadcast on CBS Sports breaks records with 123.4 million viewers

Super Bowl LVIII has set a new record for the most-watched program in television history. The broadcast, which was live on CBS, drew in an average of 123.4 million viewers across all platforms, including CBS Television Network, Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univision, and CBS Sports, Univision and NFL digital properties. This surpassed last year’s Super Bowl (115.1 million), which held the previous record.

The game itself produced many exciting storylines as Patrick Mahomes won his third career Super Bowl MVP award. Taylor Swift also attended the game and was featured throughout the broadcast while Usher starred as the halftime performer alongside Alicia Keys and Ludacris. The second half and overtime were one of the most exciting stretches in the game’s history.

CBS Sports had a successful season with their coverage of NFL ON CBS scoring the most-watched regular season since the league returned to the network in 1998 and had its best NFL postseason viewership since 1998 as well.
