Top Players at Turning Stone Win Record $6.2 Million in World Series of Poker Payouts

Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York recently hosted a 12-day tournament for the World Series of Poker event. The tournament saw record-breaking numbers of entries, money won and visitors lured to the region. With a total prize money of $6.2 million awarded, double the minimum guarantee, it was an extremely successful event for the Oneida Indian Nation which operates the casino.

In addition to attracting over 16,000 entries from players representing 38 states and four Canadian provinces, the tournament also sent 18 “Gold Ring” winning players to the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions main event in Las Vegas. Ethan Bennett from Brooklyn was crowned WSOP Main Event Champion at this year’s event, winning $298,546 and his first-ever Gold Ring.

Central and Western New York players also had much to celebrate as they won money and Gold Ring tickets to the Vegas tournament. This marked the third year that Turning Stone has hosted World Series of Poker events at their Events Center in Verona. As one of only two casinos in the Northeast to host a WSOP circuit event, Turning Stone is among fewer than 20 casinos across the country that provide this prestigious gaming experience.

Turning Stone has become synonymous with providing top-notch gaming experiences for players around the world. The World Series of Poker is known as the largest, richest and most prestigious gaming event globally with over $3.8 billion in prize money awarded since its inception in 1970.
