MEDINA — To promote local businesses within the city, the City of Medina will be participating in Small Business Saturday on November 25. This event is part of a larger “Shop Small Movement” founded by American Express in 2010, which aims to help small businesses draw in more customers and thrive.

Small Business Saturday takes place every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday during the peak holiday shopping season. In Medina, the celebration will begin at 11 am with a table set up in the Huntington Bank lobby located at 39 Public Square, offering “Shop Small” handouts and information about the city’s small business community. Santa Claus will also be stopping by from noon to 2 pm at Wichert Insurance, 119 N. Court St., to spread holiday cheer and support local businesses.

According to a recent press release from Main Street Medina, over 90% of the business district storefronts in Medina are filled with local, independent retail shops, boutiques, restaurants, pubs and a wide range of services.
